The Big Pink Ejaculate on America

I'm in America touring with The Big Pink since Wedenesday, I'm switching off my phone and not replying to emails I'm receiving. I can't deal with anything at the moment, it's been too much. I just want to be on the road playing shows every night not worrying about anything else. This is my room on Tuesday, the day before I flew to America. What a state.

It's been a hectic week. I nearly lost it completely. I've been working more than a human being can cope with. No time for toilet, No time for eating, No time for breathing. Tuesday morning I had a photoshoot for NME in my room, This is Tom the photographer.

Tuesday Midday, The big pink went to BBC studio for Later with Jools show. Backstage, Milo shaved his beard off.

Adam played bass, I cut his hair.

All day in the studio, I was also doing 2 interviews for Comanechi in between break time, so there weren't any break for me.

Wednesday morning, on the way to Heathrow airport, there was a road accident, we nearly missed our flight.

I asked Kinga before I left London if she want me to bring some present for James. Kinga said James loves Wispa, so I got him 6 bars of Wispa.

He was very pleased and ate 3 bars at once.

The show was amazing, supported by io echo & Crystal Antlers, the venue was so full.

A quick break

I met up with Robin at Dalston Superstore for coffee this afternoon. We hadn't seen each other for such a long time as we were both away. I've been on tour and Robin was recording the male bonding album in NY. He brought me a present; Male Bonding 7". and I brought him a present; Comanechi Album!

It was really lovely to see him. We had a fun chat. Then I had an AnOther magazine interview, the editor Sophie at Dalston Superstore. Robin stayed with me while I was having the interview.
I'm off to the Jools Holland rehearsal at BBC studio from now. The Big Pink is on Jools Holland show live on TV tomorrow night! So Watch!!! We are going to do a run through for the show tonight.

Wow! This morning I received the actual Comanechi Album from Merok Records & Knew Noise Recordings from Japan both at the same time! This one below is Japanese release (exactly the same album, but comes with 4 bonus tracks and my handwritten lyrics sheet translated in Japanese as well as the original English lyrics.)

SLUDGE POP AND POST-SPAZZ FOR KEEX

I had a photoshoot for AnOther Magazine yesterday, the weather was horrible, it was raining and wind was blowing really hard, freezing. but it worked out well. I had to find a roof we could climb up and I managed to get into my friend's Nova's roof. The photographer sent me a couple of pictures from yesterday for me to have a look.

This morning I had an interview for The Guardian Music about people downloading music for free and music business is not making enough money to pay musicians. I never really thought about this issue, but we really should, if many people download Comanechi album for free, then I don't make any money. People who buy albums like ours wouldn't be as many as people buy mainstream pop bands, it really affect bands like us to make money from selling records. We should support the bands we love! I spent so much time and love to the album artwork and booklets as well, you want to hold the actual masterpiece in your hands, right?

I'm pretty fucking damn tired, seriously... Anyway. before that I want to apologize for not replying back to people commenting on my blog and not replying to emails from friends. I read everything, and I'm really glad and makes me happy you send me messages. but I'm literately not having enough time to sit and get back to you. I know that it's lame, but my head needs to have a rest too. It's all overwhelming. But I'm not one of those friends trying to call or checking & leaving comments back to my face book every minutes making sure that we are still friends.

Tonight, The Big Pink played at the O2 Arena supporting Muse in front of 23.000 people! BUT. We all got tube to get to the venue to play. Because our tour manager and crew had to be there to set up gear before us, we didn't get picked up. It's really funny that this is the truth we had to get our own transport to play in front of 23,000 people at the O2 Arena and me reading Bruce Lee's book on the Tube.I've never been to the O2 before. I needed to follow the sign.

I came home at mid night and met my house mates. Dan, GG & Bob. I missed them. We've just got a toilet seat! Now we are part of human being, Now we can actually take shit like all our friends do! We are so happy!

Pretty Fucking Awesome...

Comanechi got 9 out of 10 in this week's NME Album Review!!! I can't fucking believe it! NME actually has got good taste in Music. We don't suck up on them, I didn't even know that our album was going to be reviewed either. but they gave us a really good review. Thank you so much The New Musical Express!!!!I'm back in London. Comanechi were pretty fucking out of practice as I've been on tour with the Big Pink. So yesterday I had a practice with Comanechi.

This is Simon's pedal he made by himself. He's actually a nerd and very good at soldering and making his own guitar pedals. He's making some cool pedals for Robbie Big Pink too.Simon's very happy with our album review in NME. After the rehearsal I was off straight to The Big Pink sound check.

Me, Leo & Milo went to Ethiopian food after the sound check. I've never had Ethiopian food before. It was like sour crumpet type of thin pancake with different kind of meat & veg on top, eat with your fingers. It was very nice!

Back in the venue, we played for a private party thing at Boston Arms in Tufnell Park.

I am actually pretty fucking so damn tired, so many things to do in a day everyday. Rehearing, Emailing(interviews, booking shows etc), Sound Checking, Playing shows and Partying hard till late, then getting up really early the next day.
People die from working too hard, but I think it's because working so hard on something they don't like? Stress and all that... I work really hard and get really really tired but I feel Soooooo "ALIVE"!!!
